The Deck of Colours is 1 deck of cards with 4 game designed around it. The games are Chains, Microchip, Dodge and Block, Dealt to Duel. It is an abstract deck of cards where players 'Link' cards together using different coloured boxes on different cards.

Here is a brief insert of each game from the rulebooks.

Chains

Time: 30 mins

Players: 1 to 4 or more with more cards.

​

Chains is a game of Chains where the objective is to try and score a perfect game (or as close to) which is 13 points. After setting up the 3 cards and picking the Master Key for the game there are 2 rounds. 1st round the players take turns to discard up to their entire hand of five cards for fresh cards from the deck. In the 2nd round, players take turns presenting their using as many as their cards and try to use all three cards set up to score as much points as possible.
1 Block cards are treated as if they have 6 blocks of the same colour on all sides.

Microchip

Time: 1 hour or less

Players: 1 or more

This solitaire style puzzle is all about trying to create a flow of ‘Links’ from the edge cards on one side to the edge pieces on the other. Like a microchip the idea is that when it’s completed every card will flow in a continuous ‘chain’. 1 Block cards are treated like 1 block on one side only and blank on all other sides.

Dodge and Block

Time: 1 hour

Players: 2, if there are more, then players can split into 2 teams.

This game focuses on two basic premises for adventuring hero characters. Those who must be quick thinking and nimble enough when faced with obstacles on their journey. Then there are the strategic risk takers that must try to stop the oncoming onslaught. In this game these are the Dodgers and the Blockers. On a lane that is 9 cards wide and 12 cards long the Dodger tries to make a ‘Chains’ toward the goal. Then the Blocker tries to stop them by laying their face down cards to interrupt the ‘Chains’ of the Dodger. If the Dodger makes it to the finish, they win. If the Blocker stops the Dodger from staying inside the lane, or blocks their ‘Chains’ from continuing, the Blocker wins.

Dealt to Duel

Time: 1 - 2 hours

Players: 3 - 4

Dealt to Duel is about achieving victory by being the last player in the game after 2 Phases of card-based combat. In the 1st phase players build up their defenses, until fate favors one player and they manage to have a completely full wall.
Once one player can fill up their defenses to full Phase 2 Begins. In Phase 2 players take turns attacking and defending from each other. The Master Key setting of the round dictates how strong the cards in the player’s hand is. For every block of colour that can be used in the setting that card has 1 Force point.

 If an attacking player can produce a card that has more Force Points, then a Defending player’s card in their wall. Then the attacking player can take that card plus one of their choosing. Unless the defending player chooses to counter-attack by producing up to 2 cards from their hand combined Force points greater than the attacking player’s hand. In this instance the counterattack is successful, and the wall is untouched with all cards from the player’s hands discarded. The game continues until there is only one player with at least one card in their wall.
